The Jabatan Perkhidmatan Awam (JPA), also known as the Public Service Department of Malaysia, is one of the most well-recognized scholarship providers in the country. Each year, JPA offers financial support to outstanding students who wish to pursue higher education locally or abroad, covering studies from undergraduate to postgraduate and doctoral levels.
For 2026, the JPA Scholarship is open for Undergraduate, Master’s, and PhD programs in critical fields such as Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics (STEM), Economics, Law, Islamic Finance, and Artificial Intelligence.
Who Can Apply?
The scholarship is available to students who are:
- Enrolled in First Degree programs at Public Universities (UA), Premier Polytechnics, or Government-Linked Universities (GLU) recognized by JPA.

Although JPA sponsors a wide range of programs, some fields are not included:

- Franchise programs or unauthorized twinning/dual degrees

Special Conditions for Marriage During Studies

How to Apply for JPA Scholarship 2026

- Submit your application online via the official JPA portal.
- Take and pass the Psychometric Test.
- Print out the confirmation slips:
- Slip Pengesahan Ujian Psikometrik
- Slip Pengesahan Permohonan Program Penajaan Nasional Tahun
- Attend the Student Assessment Centre (SAC) if shortlisted.
Reporting After Graduation
After completing studies, students must report to JPA through the MySELF system:
- Visit myself.jpa.gov.my.
- Register for eSILA-ID and log in.
- Go to the Graduate Self-Report section.
- Submit required documents:
- Copy of degree or confirmation of completion
- Transcript of results
- Proof of job application to the Public Service Commission (or other appointing authority)
Application to Work Abroad
Students can apply via the MySELF system if they wish to work abroad after graduation. Conditions include:
- Maximum duration: 3 years
- Must be in the final year of overseas study
- Repayment schedules adjusted upon return
